YOUR SEVEN-DAY ITALIAN ISLAND RETREAT
Join us in Summer 2027 for a restorative week of yoga, rest, and connection on the sunlit island of Sicily. Embracing the art of slow living, each day will include mindful yoga, conscious breathing, and meditation. All sessions take place outdoors on the spacious, shaded terrace overlooking the pool and the sea, an open-air sanctuary where soft breezes, wide horizons, and the gentle rhythm of nature invite your body and mind to soften, reset, and restore.
We’ll be staying at Roccaseta Dimore Siciliane, a recently renovated Sicilian farmhouse that blends rustic charm with contemporary comfort, set among olive and carob trees with far-reaching views of the sea. Set in a peaceful corner of southern Sicily, with the golden sands of Sampieri beach just a walk away, this area also includes the historic town of Scicli, part of the UNESCO-recognised Val di Noto and celebrated for its Baroque beauty and rich cultural heritage.
This retreat is an invitation to unwind, reconnect, and savour the simple, timeless beauty of southern Sicily.

ACCOMMODATION
Each room at Roccaseta has its own character, blending Mediterranean tradition with gentle modern design. All rooms are ensuite, air-conditioned, and thoughtfully furnished with soft linens, quality bedding, a hairdryer and organic handwash, bodywash and shampoo.
Every room opens onto a private outdoor space - a patio or small garden - perfect for enjoying a quiet morning coffee or relaxing with a book in the evening. Some rooms offer beautiful sea views, while others open onto peaceful garden areas surrounded by native plants and trees.
THE FOOD
The food at Roccaseta is plentiful, delicious, and prepared with fresh, local ingredients. Light fruit and tea are available before morning practice, followed by a generous plant-based brunch, an afternoon snack, and a nourishing dinner on five evenings.
We’ll also enjoy two evenings out to experience local Sicilian cuisine (not included). Most dietary allergies or intolerances can be accommodated with advance notice.
OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES & EXPERIENCES
Between the brunch and afternoon yoga session, you’re free to enjoy the pace of the day in whatever way feels most nourishing. Relax on the terrace by the pool, read in the shade, book a massage, wander through the surrounding countryside, or walk down to one of the beautiful nearby beaches. This is your time to unwind, explore, and simply enjoy being away from the usual demands of daily life.
We’ll take one afternoon off yoga mid-week to allow for a longer optional excursion, and there are many wonderful places within easy reach of Roccaseta. Sampieri Beach & its seafront restaurants, is a 30-minute walk from the property, while Scicli - part of the UNESCO-recognised Val di Noto - is just a short drive away. Other Baroque gems such as Ragusa Ibla, Noto, and Modica, as well as the archaeological treasures of Syracuse and Ortigia, are also easily accessible by car or taxi for those who wish to explore further.
For those who want to discover even more, additional experiences such as private palazzo visits, wine tastings, bike tours, boat trips, and guided trips to local towns can be arranged on request.
For deeper relaxation, holistic massages are available on-site with an experienced therapist (prices vary by duration).
GETTING THERE
Catania Airport is around 75 minutes from Roccaseta and offers the widest choice of flights from the UK, including services with EasyJet, Ryanair, Jet2 and British Airways.
I’ll be arranging a group transfer from Catania (not included in the retreat price) and will share recommended flight times closer to the date so we can coordinate arrivals as smoothly as possible. While it’s always lovely when a group travels together, you’re equally welcome to make your own way - whether that means hiring a car, arriving early to explore, or travelling independently and meeting us directly at the venue.
CHECK IN / CHECK OUT TIMES
Check-in is from 3pm, with the option to relax on-site or visit Sampieri if you arrive early.
Check-out is at 10:30am; guests with later flights can spend time in Sampieri before heading to the airport.
(Times may vary slightly depending on the venue and will be confirmed shortly)

THE LOCAL AREA
Roccaseta lies just outside Scicli, a small town with ancient origins & a long, layered history shaped by Sicels, Arabs, Normans and Spanish rulers. After the great earthquake of 1693, Scicli was rebuilt in the distinctive Sicilian-Baroque style that later earned it UNESCO World Heritage status as part of the Val di Noto (a group of eight Baroque towns renowned for their elegant palaces, honey-coloured stone, and exceptional architectural harmony). Today, Scicli’s warm facades, quiet piazzas and unhurried rhythm make it one of the region’s most atmospheric towns.
Scicli has also gained international fame as a key filming location for the much-loved Italian TV series Inspector Montalbano, whose success brought new attention to its civic buildings and winding streets. The surrounding countryside is shaped by limestone terraces, carob and olive groves, and long stretches of coastline dotted with wide sandy beaches, including nearby Sampieri. It’s a landscape of soft light, open horizons and subtle beauty, offering endless opportunities for gentle exploration and moments of calm.
SICILY
Sicily is an island shaped by sunlight, stories, and centuries of cultural influence. Positioned between Europe and North Africa, it has been home to Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Arabs, Normans and Spanish rulers - each leaving traces in its temples, mosaics, food, and architecture. Ancient sites like the Greek theatre in Syracuse, the clifftop amphitheatre in Taormina, and Palermo’s golden Norman mosaics reveal a history found nowhere else in the Mediterranean.
The island’s landscapes are just as varied: turquoise coves, fertile plains of citrus and almonds, quiet fishing villages, and the dramatic slopes of Mount Etna, whose volcanic soils support some of Italy’s most exciting wines.
Crafts, festivals & culinary traditions, from ricotta & wild herbs to pistachios, capers & local olive oils - reflect a culture deeply connected to land & community.
With over 1,000 kilometres of coastline and a blend of ancient heritage and relaxed island life, Sicily invites you to slow down, savour its flavours, and experience the warmth and soul that define this remarkable island.
